                    Paper has been considered now- a-day to be as important as food and drink,it is a material which is ordinarily used for the purpose of writing .The word `opaper` has come from the word o`papyruso` .In egypt paper was firSt made from a kind of plant call o`papyruso` and from this word `paper` is said to have come .

HOW WRITING WAS DONE IN ANCIENT TIMES :

            

HISTORICAL PAPER

    In ancient times when there was no paper , writing was done on leaves and barks of trees .Books were written mostly on palm leaves . In India writing was done on leaves and barks of trees .Books were written was mostly on palm leaves . In India writing was done on the barks of trees and on Bhuja patra .We can even now find many valuable manuscripts written on (Sashipat) the barks of trees . After the introduction of paper , writing has become much easier . In ancient times there were only a very few books . Great thinkers and prophets did their writing with great difficulty .They spread their ideals and thoughts with great hardship . Today we have thousands of books . Introduction of paper has enabled us to write as much as we like and spread our writing far and wide .

 HOW PAPER IS MADE:

                   Paper is made from rags ,grass , bamboos ,straw , etc .First of all these things are reduced in a machine . Then this dust is boiled and something like mud is made . This is called pulp . This pulp is then refined and spread . Then with the help of pressure it is made thin . It is then dried and cut into pieces of different sizes . Thus paper is made.

KINDS OF PAPER:

     

          There are different kind of paper like – printing paper , packing paper, decorating paper , blotting paper , etc . There are different qualities of paper too . Some are very cheap, some are costly . We have seen paper of various colours . Coloured paper is made by mixing colour with the pulp.

           We cannot do without paper now-a-days . The books we read are printed on paper . We may have news of different countries by reading news printed on paper . We exchange our thoughts , ideas writing on paper . Thus paper has become as necessary as our food or clothing . Besides it , paper is used to sarve other purposes . Moreover , we packing things , decorate our gates with paper . In japan houses are also build with paper.

PAPER HELPS SPREADING OF KNOWLEDGE:

                           Paper has helped man to spread knowledge and civilisation . We have been able to get our thoughts and ideas printed on paper and get and get them circulated throughout the would . Thus ,we may spread knowledge with the help of paper.

CONCLUSION: 

                   In our country the number of paper mills is yet insufficient on fulfill our need . We have to import paper from other countries . We have , how- ever , sufficient resources to run a few more mills . It is hoped that we may get our want-s fulfilled in no times .
